Using Thought Leadership to Break Into A New Market

  • The Challenge

Skytree, a pioneering carbon capture company based in the Netherlands, was preparing to enter the U.S. Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) market. While their technology (on-site direct air capture systems) had clear potential, many growers were unfamiliar with the concept or unaware of the role carbon enrichment plays in maximizing yields. Skytree needed a thought leadership piece that would do more than explain the tech. It had to educate a new market, build credibility, and reframe carbon capture as a strategic agricultural input—not just a climate solution.

  • Our Approach

Depth Services developed a flagship white paper that positioned Skytree’s technology at the intersection of yield optimization, sustainability, and long-term climate resilience. We worked closely with their team to:

    - Clarify and contextualize the science behind carbon capture for a grower audience

    - Situate the product within broader CEA trends, including resource efficiency and decarbonization

    - Frame the system as a “win-win” solution that increases productivity while reducing reliance on fossil-fuel-based CO₂

The Results

The paper became a foundational asset in Skytree’s U.S. expansion efforts, supporting outreach to potential customers, partners, and investors. It helped solidify Skytree’s positioning as a science-forward, solution-oriented company aligned with the values of next-generation growers. Internally, the paper also helped align sales and leadership teams around a unified story: that carbon capture isn’t just about the environment—it’s about performance.

  • "What Depth Services crystallized was perfect. The process, the timelines, and the communication from Dr. B went very smooth. The way she designed the white paper and brought it all together was a very unique service offering. It answered our calling."
